A 24-48 hour Holter monitor is a portable ECG device worn for a specified period, typically 24 to 48 hours, to continuously record a patient’s heart rhythm. It’s used to diagnose heart rhythm problems or arrhythmias by capturing a more comprehensive view of heart activity than a standard EKG. The monitor is worn during normal daily activities, and the patient is usually asked to keep a diary of their activities and any symptoms experienced.
