We will facilitate continuity of care with your AME and treating physician. We will arrange to have your records delivered to the FAA promptly to avoid unnecessary delay.  The Aerospace Cardiology staff is ready to serve you full time.

About John S. Raniolo, D.O.

John S. Raniolo, D.O. specializes in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Evaluations, and has practiced in the Phoenix area for the past 34 years. He is one of the Federal Air Surgeon’s Cardiology Consultants (FASCC) and serves as a panel member. He participates in aeromedical certification for airmen who have had a disqualifying cardiac condiiton. The panel meets at the Civil Aviation Medical Institute (CAMI) every two months in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Raniolo has been a private pilot for the past 29 years and is instrument rated. Dr. Raniolo is the pilot’s advocate and specializes in assistance with special issuance.

Sarah Acedo – Office Manager

Sarah has been a dedicated member of Aerospace Cardiology and AMCS for over 11 years. With her warm smile and exceptional organizational skills, she ensures each patient’s visit begins seamlessly—from appointment scheduling and check-in to managing medical records and answering questions with compassion and precision.

Sarah also specializes in coordinating FAA medical certifications for pilots and aviation professionals. Whether assisting a first-time student pilot or a seasoned commercial airline captain, she ensures that exams are scheduled correctly, documentation is complete, and all questions are addressed in advance. Her meticulous attention to detail and calm professionalism plays a key role in the smooth operation of the office.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys quality time with her family, attending Pilates classes, working out at the gym, diving into a good book, and discovering new culinary delights.

Amanda Nixon – Medical Assistant and Front Office Assistant

Amanda has been a valued member of Aerospace Cardiology and AMCS for the past year. With her warm smile and welcoming presence, she ensures that every patient feels comfortable from the moment they arrive. Whether she’s checking in patients, answering phone calls, or coordinating appointment schedules, Amanda works closely with both patients and clinical staff to keep the office running smoothly. She takes great pride in creating an environment where each individual feels respected and cared for.

As the proud mother of seven children, Amanda has mastered the art of multitasking, adaptability, and empathy—qualities that make her an exceptional asset in a busy medical setting. In her free time, she enjoys making lasting memories with her husband and children, cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks, hiking scenic Arizona trails, and exploring new culinary experiences.

Alexis Acedo – Front Office Assistant

Alexis has been a valued team member at Aerospace Cardiology and AMCS for the past two years. She is currently pursuing her undergraduate studies at Mesa Community College with plans to enter a nursing program and achieve her lifelong goal of becoming a registered nurse. Alexis brings a genuine passion for healthcare to her role, gaining hands-on experience in a clinical setting while preparing for a future in patient care.

Outside of work and school, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family, staying active at the gym, and coaching her high school’s varsity pom team.

Madyson “Mady” Hayden – Medical Assistant

Mady is the newest addition to the Aerospace Cardiology and AMCS team, joining us as a Medical Assistant with a strong commitment to patient care and a clear goal of becoming a Physician Assistant. Her enthusiasm for learning and solid clinical foundation makes her a valuable asset to our back-office team. Maddy looks forward to gaining hands-on experience and growing within our practice.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys staying active at the gym, attending concerts, and exploring new destinations through travel.
