NUCLEAR STRESS TESTING

A nuclear treadmill stress test is a procedure used to assess the health of the heart by monitoring its blood flow while it is under stress, typically during exercise on a treadmill. It involves injecting a small amount of radioactive tracer into the bloodstream, which is then used to create images of the heart using a gamma camera. These images are taken at rest and again after the heart has been stressed, allowing doctors to compare the blood flow under both conditions.
